Privacy Policy

buzzn (“buzzn,” “we,” “us”) operates the buzzn mobile app and the buzzn Business web dashboard (together, the “Service”), which help people discover live, time-limited deals at nearby businesses and help businesses list and manage those deals. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information. Email address, name, and (for business accounts) business name, description, address, and category, when you create an account or a business listing.
• Location. If you grant location permission, the consumer app uses your device’s precise location to show deals near you and to confirm you’re at a business when you check in. Business addresses are geocoded so they can appear on the map and in distance-based search.
• Photos. Business owners may upload a logo, deal photos, and gallery photos. These are stored in a public bucket and are visible to anyone using the Service, including in shared links.
• Usage data. We record when a deal is viewed and when a check-in is issued or redeemed, so businesses can see aggregate view/check-in/redemption counts for their own deals. We don’t share who specifically viewed or followed a business with that business — only counts.
• Push notification tokens. If you allow notifications, we store a device push token so we can notify you (e.g. a business you follow just posted a deal) or notify a business owner (e.g. a new check-in). You can disable notifications in your device settings at any time.
• Payment information. Business subscriptions and add-ons (Boost, Featured, extra locations) are billed through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles that as our payment processor, subject to Stripe’s own privacy policy. We store subscription/plan status and Stripe identifiers needed to manage your billing.

How we use this information

To operate the Service: show relevant nearby or followed deals, process check-ins and redemptions, run business billing, send the notifications you’ve opted into, moderate content, and maintain the security and reliability of the Service. We don’t sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

• Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
• Stripe processes business payments and subscriptions.
• Expo/Apple/Google deliver push notifications to your device.
• We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of buzzn, our users, or the public.

Your choices

Location and notification permissions are controlled by your device and can be turned off at any time in Settings — the app will keep working with reduced functionality (e.g. no nearby feed without location). Following a business is reversible at any time from the deal page. To request deletion of your account or data, contact us using the information below.

Data retention

We keep account and usage data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, security, and record-keeping purposes. Business photos and listings are retained until the owning business removes them or the account is deleted.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
